Suzuki S-Presso

Our German Celebrity, Udo Helming, a visitor for the very first time to sunny South Africa, all the way from Nordhorn, Germany could not have been more impressed with the little S-Presso that we had for a drive into Cape Town!

Everywhere we went, they kept coming, like a herd of Zebras in the Serengeti. In just a short drive time, our eyes kept on seeing these little S-Presso`s in their frugal form popping up around and about. Suzuki truly knows how to position their brand in the entry level market, having no less than 5 models that are positioned around the R200.000 bracket. The S-Presso in specific has just recently been updated with the following features.  In terms of safety, the S-Presso now comes with Suzuki's Total Effective Control Technology (TECT) body structure, which is designed to absorb and disperse impact energy in the event of a collision. Together with the electronic stability program (ESP), ISOFIX baby seat connecting points, the S-Presso still only achieves a 3 star N-Cap rating. Additionally, it features a reverse parking camera and parking sensors, which aid in parking and reversing manoeuvres. Aesthetic changes include a new front grille, updated headlamps, and redesigned front and rear bumpers. The interior has also been refreshed with a new infotainment system that includes a 9-inch touch screen display and smartphone connectivity, not to mention the easy access windows right there in the middle of the dashboard. The biggest mention we held for last and that is that the little hard-working 3-cylinders 1L engine does fairly well to keep up with the pigeons, and when one does not push it for too many late appointments, it will offer very decent claimed 4.4 L/100 km for the AT model and 4.6L/100 km for the manual shift. Filling up, the little 27L tank will be able to last you for around 580 km. Now that will be one of the bigger reasons to invest in one of the smallest cars on the road. Starting from as little as R165900 for the base model, the GL MT. Get your brochure here.
